What does Reelt actually use?

Reelt does not set any cookies from its own code. Instead we use local storage (localStorage) in your browser to remember your choices and your work in progress. It does the same job as a cookie, but is technically something else. The one real cookie that does get set on reeltapp.com comes from our security and CDN provider, Cloudflare (__cf_bm). It protects the site against automated abuse, we do not set it ourselves, and it contains no information about you personally. When the rest of this page says "cookies", that therefore covers both the one Cloudflare cookie and the local storage that does most of the work.

Necessary storage

The following sits in your browser, and the site cannot work without it: • cookie_consent and cookie_preferences: your answer to the cookie banner • preferred-language: your language choice (Danish or English) • Supabase login token (a key starting with "sb-"): keeps you logged in until you log out • reelt_transactions, reelt_calculation_result, reelt_household_context and similar: your uploaded statement and calculated result, so you don't lose it on a reload • reelt_ai_text_cache_v1: caches AI-written explanation text so it doesn't have to be regenerated • reelt_bank_mapping_ and reelt_column_mapping_: remembers how you mapped a file's columns last time • reelt_howToRead_seen_v1: remembers that you've seen the walkthrough once • __cf_bm: Cloudflare's security cookie against bots None of these can be turned off in the banner, because the site cannot work without them. You can always delete them manually via your browser settings.

Statistics and marketing

Choosing "Statistics" in the cookie banner turns on our own, first-party behaviour analytics. It's built to work like what an ordinary web shop uses to see where customers drop off, but without third-party tools like Google Analytics, without a cookie from us, and without anything that identifies you personally. This means: • We use no third-party analytics tools. Data never leaves our own systems. • No cookie is set. A random session id is kept in your browser's session storage (sessionStorage) and disappears when you close the tab. • We never store your IP address or your full browser identification (user agent), only a coarse device type (mobile/tablet/desktop) and a coarse screen size. • We record page views (with no search parameters or ids in the address), which buttons and links get clicked, how far you scroll, whether something breaks (a JS error message with no technical stack trace), and a few high-level steps in your path through the site (e.g. "upload started", "result viewed"). • We never read the content of a field you type into. No amounts, no transaction text, no email addresses. • Data is automatically deleted after 90 days. If you choose "Statistics" off, the site sends none of these events at all. We don't just hide them, nothing is sent in the first place. "Marketing" is still not in use. Whichever you pick here, we do not set marketing cookies, and you will not see any ads from us.

Your saved choices

These are stored locally in your browser and are never sent to our servers: • preferred-language: your preferred language • cookie_consent and cookie_preferences: your choice in the cookie banner If you use the same browser next time, we remember your choices. If you switch browser or device, you will need to choose again.

How long is it kept?

• Login: you stay logged in until you log out yourself, or your browser clears its storage • Your uploaded statement and calculated result: at most 7 days, after which we clear them from your browser automatically • Language choice and cookie consent: until you change them yourself or clear your browser's data • __cf_bm (Cloudflare): around 30 minutes You can clear all of it at any time via your browser settings.

Manage your choices

You are in full control: • Use the 'Cookie settings' button at the bottom of the page to change your answer • Clear the site's data via your browser settings (search for 'reeltapp.com') • When you log out, we automatically clear your financial data from the browser To clear everything from Reelt manually: 1.
